Language+ App
Connecting communities with Emergency Services
Language+ is an app developed by Multicultural NSW in close collaboration with NSW Police for deployment on 12,000 police mobile devices. Over 200 commonly used policing phrases were identified across key police services, including Highway Patrol, Water Police, Domestic Violence and General Duties.
Media Launch Collateral
Discovery
With the completion of the Language+ App imminent, the project team rode the Multicultural March wave and pushed for a Media Launch marking the strong collaboration and partnership between Multicultural NSW and NSW Police.
I was tasked with creating a media backdrop.
Development
The lead Communications Advisor on the project team drove out to the site where the media coverage was to be filmed.
It was noted that the space was large but surrounded with grey walls.
In our brainstorming session, we discussed how to make our visual identity impactful with a limited budget.
I recently ordered a 6 meter wide media wall for another program and offered it as a solution to filling in the space.
Delivery
I duplicated the messaging on the left and right side of the media wall to allow maximum media coverage while speakers stood before the wall.
This design choice proved to be effective with the messaging present from multiple angles.
The filming location was also moved to a space with more grey walls to maximise the intensity of the blue media wall.
The event was a resounding success with multiple outlets of media coverage and resulted in the project team being the Winner of the Excellence In Service Delivery Award at the Premier's Awards 2025.
